We started here

2017

life skills programs in targeted municipalities

In April 2017, Almobadr took on one of their largest projects to ensure that vulnerable adolescents and youth have an increased awareness and access to technical and vocational education and training, and access to life skills programs in targeted municipalities.  The organization also worked to guarantee that vulnerable adolescents and youth have increased social and economic inclusion in their communities, and opportunities to engage in dialogue and peacebuilding in targeted municipalities.  This project recently concluded in June 2021 and was funded by both UNICEF and the EU.

2016

civil society participation in decision making in the local administration

An additional task that Almobadr undertook was to strengthen civil society participation in decision making in the local administration.  The project was implemented from May 2016 to September 2016 and was funded by People in Need.  People in Need is a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian aid in over 30 countries by endorsing education for children, helping the poor, and supporting human rights activists.

2015

Educational systems, transitioning communities from conflict to peace

From May 2015 to October 2015, Almobadr carried out the Initiative to Activate the Municipal Shura Council, evoking Article 28 of the law on local administration.  The initiative was funded by Creative Associates International, a company that provides development services and forms partnerships to address global challenges, such as creating more inclusive educational systems, transitioning communities from conflict to peace, stimulating sustainable economic growth, promoting transparent elections, and more.  Since it was founded in 1977, the company has grown to almost 1,000 employees and is active in more than 25 countries.
